08Fleshworld File Format
-----------------------------------¹«Fleshworld File Format²»-----------------------------------By: ³Shade²,³ Link² &³ Murk²
Here's a brief document for those who want to use colors and other
effects in their articles. When writing your article, make sure that you're
using the ³USA² keymap. The palette of the article is set by putting a
number from 0 to 3 ³(0 is default)² as the ¹first² character in the
textfile.
The default color, chosen from the palette, is color number 2.
When you want to change the color, press ¹ALT-1, ²ALT-2 or ³ALT-3².
If the second char (right after the palette number) is ³8², then
the article will have only a single column per page instead of the usual
two - like this one. ³(= 80 chars. / line)²
A ³CTRL-A² in the end of a line signifies that the line should be
outputted unformatted to the screen. A ³CTRL-B² tells Fleshworld to center
the text (no format).
Font can be changed by pressing ³ALT-9² or ³ALT-0². The default
font is the smaller font, which is toggled ³ON² with ALT-9. The font
supports all ASCII-characters (listed, for example, in your BASIC-guide)
32-127. This means all the characters from space to grid (the del, you know?)
except the cat-tail (or whatever it is) before the A. That can be used as
an white space, if text seems to be outputted somewhat weirdy. The curly ones,
backslash, etc. after Z and z are replaced by scandinavian characters as
the 7bit-standard, and they can be used when writing in finnish.
Simple enough? An easy way of learning the FFF is to take a look in
the actual articles (filenames FW-XX, where XX is a number between 0 and 50).
You can also use your brain and replace, for instance, FW-01 with your own
article just to see how it's printed out on the screen. Happy hackings!
³(NOTE! All articles are packed with Powerpacker, so use PPMore to read the
FW-XX files...)
